The Story You Can't See

Good Morning All – I hope you had an amazing weekend! As always, I like to start the week off right with some words of motivation or inspiration:

"It Is Not The Load That Breaks You Down, It Is The Way You Carry It." — Lou Holtz

Everyone we meet is carrying something. For some of us it's visible -- for others, it's completely hidden.

Someone may be grieving the loss of a loved one while still showing up to work each day. Another may be lying awake at night wondering how they'll pay their bills. A parent may be quietly carrying the responsibility of holding a family together. A friend may be fighting a battle they've never told anyone about.

We rarely know the full story behind someone's appearance.

  • That's why kindness matters.

  • That's why patience matters.

  • That's why compassion matters.

None of us escape hardship. Sooner or later, life places a weight on every set of shoulders. The question isn't whether we'll face difficult seasons—it's who we'll become because of them.

When we're young, we often think strength means never struggling, never doubting, and never feeling overwhelmed. Time has a way of teaching otherwise.

Real strength is found in those who refuse to let burdens determine character.

  • Choosing integrity over bitterness

  • Choosing compassion over being cynical.

  • Choosing hope over doubt.

Maybe that's what Lou Holtz meant -- the weight we carry can test us, but it doesn't have to define us. Every day, we have the opportunity to decide whether our struggles will make us bitter and resentful -- or create wisdom, resilience and compassion.

This week can remind us to be gentler with one another AND with ourselves. We never know what someone else is carrying, and we always have a choice in how we carry our own.

Have a great week!

The Comfort Zone

Good Morning All – I hope you had an amazing weekend! As always, I like to start the week off right with some words of motivation or inspiration:

We all love the comfort zone — it's predictable and familiar -- it feels safe.

There's nothing wrong with feeling comfortable. In fact, we all need moments of rest and stability. The problem comes when comfort quietly becomes a permanent way of life.

Every meaningful achievement starts with discomfort.

  • Learning a new skill.

  • Starting a business.

  • Changing careers.

  • Building healthier relationships.

  • Getting in shape.

  • Having difficult conversations.

  • Buying your first home.

  • Selling the one you've outgrown.

None of these happen by staying where everything feels easy.

Comfort Zone

Life feels safe and under control. We know what to expect, but we also risk becoming stuck if we stay here too long.

Fear Zone

Doubt creeps in. We make excuses and we worry about what others think. We question ourselves. This is where many people turn around, because fear convinces them not to try.

Learning Zone

Things begin to change. You develop new skills, gain knowledge, solve problems, and discover strengths you didn't know you had. Confidence isn't something you wait for—it grows by taking action.

Growth Zone

Goals become reality. Dreams become plans. Purpose becomes clearer. The life you once imagined starts becoming the life you're actually living.

The truth is, growth rarely feels comfortable while it's happening.

This week, challenge yourself to take one small step outside your comfort zone.

  • One conversation.

  • One decision.

  • One action you've been putting off.

  • Just take the next step.

Have a great week!

Let the Mud Settle

Our world often tells us that problems require immediate action.

  • React now.

  • Fix it now.

  • Decide now.

However, is this the best way to approach anything?

Imagine a jar filled with muddy water. If you keep shaking it, the water never becomes clear. Yet if you simply set it down and allow it to rest, the mud naturally settles to the bottom.

Often problem solving works much the same way.

When emotions are running high, our judgment often becomes cloudy. Stress, frustration, disappointment, and uncertainty have a way of stirring up our thoughts until we can't clearly see or think.

Sometimes the wisest plan of action isn't making a forced, quick decision - it's allowing ourselves to have time.

Time to listen, think, and gain perspective.

This doesn't mean avoiding problems or refusing to respond -- it just means recognizing that not every solution appears when we are forced.

This week, if something feels overwhelming:

Resist the urge to REACT -- instead, PAUSE...

Give your mind the time and space to settle — then RESPOND, rather than react.

When the mud settles, the water becomes clear. When your thoughts settle, your next step can become obvious.

You might discover the answer has been there all along, but was hidden in muddy water.

Have a great week!

Sincerely,

Want to Change Your Life?

Good Morning All – I hope you had an amazing weekend! As always, I like to start the week off right with some words of motivation or inspiration:

All of us have goals:

Lose 20 pounds. Read more books. Save more money. Start a business. Buy a home. Strengthen relationships. Eat Healthy. Get more sleep.

But goals are simply destinations. Habits are the vehicle that gets us there. We don't rise to the level of our goals — we fall to the level of our habits.

If your daily routine stays exactly the same, your results will too.

This week, forget about trying to change everything at once. Instead, focus on one or two things:

  • Start one positive habit

  • Eliminate one negative habit.

The key isn't intensity — it's consistency over time.

Most of us struggle to create lasting change because we try to do too much, too soon—or we wait for the "perfect time" that never comes.

The truth is, extra time doesn't magically appear. If a new habit matters, it needs to be scheduled like any other important appointment.

And remember: the habits you already have weren't built overnight. Developing new habits—or breaking old ones—takes patience, consistency, and repetition.

Start small and make it easy to succeed:

  •  Wake up 20 minutes earlier.

  •  Replace 20 minutes of scrolling with reading.

  •  Use your lunch break for a walk.

  •  Lay out tomorrow's workout clothes the night before.

Small actions, repeated consistently, create extraordinary results over time.

Forget the myth that it takes 21 days to build a habit. New research shows most habits take 59–66 days to become automatic, though it can range from 4 to 335 days depending on the person and behaviour.

Morning routines, self-chosen goals, and simple actions with clear triggers are more likely to stick. The key to lasting change isn't a quick fix—it's consistency over time.

For example: Instead of focusing on the outcome ("I want to lose weight"), focus on a simple habit with a clear trigger ("After dinner, I'll walk around the block for 25 minutes").

A good start is to commit to trying your new habit for 28 Days. While everyone's timeline is different, 28 days gives you four full weeks to establish a routine, overcome excuses, and prove to yourself that change is possible.

  • Week 1: Excitement.

  • Week 2: Resistance.

  • Week 3: Adjustment.

  • Week 4: Momentum.

By day 28, your new behaviour begins to feel less like a chore and more like part of your identity.

Don't focus on perfection - just focus on showing up - one day at a time.

Have a great week!

The Real You

Good Morning All – I hope you had an amazing weekend! As always, I like to start the week off right with some words of motivation or inspiration:

“To be nobody-but-yourself—in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else—means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting.” — Edward Estlin Cummings

Every day, we're surrounded by expectations thrust upon us.

  • How we should look.

  • How we should act.

  • What success should look like.

  • What career path we should choose.

  • What milestones we should hit.

Social media - and all other media -- makes it easy to compare our behind-the-scenes lives and struggles to everyone else's highlight reel.

It's no surprise that so many of us feel pressure to fit in.

Living someone else's version of success often comes at a huge cost: peace, confidence, and sense of purpose. The truth is that our greatest advantage is not becoming more like everyone else—it's becoming more of who we already are.

Being authentic means embracing our strengths, accepting our imperfections, and trusting ourselves enough to follow the path that feels right for US.

You don't need permission to be yourself.

Our world doesn't need another copy version of anyone -- it needs the real you.

Have a great week!

What Train Are You On?

Good Morning All – I hope you had an amazing weekend! As always, I like to start the week off right with some words of motivation or inspiration:

“If You Get On The Wrong Train, Get Off At The Nearest Station, The Longer It Takes You To Get Off, The More Expensive The Return Trip Will Be.”

Sometimes we stay in situations far longer than we should — not because they’re good for us, but because we’ve already invested so much:

  • Time

  • Energy

  • Money

  • Emotion

And the longer we stay, the harder it becomes to pivot. One of the biggest mistakes we all make in life is believing we have to keep going because we’ve already gone this far.

Not every path is meant to be permanent.
Not every decision is meant to define us forever.

Sometimes wisdom is recognizing something isn’t working … and sometimes growth means changing direction before more damage is done. Think about:

  • Relationships

  • Career

  • Friendships

  • Business decisions

  • Habits

Even the way we think about ourselves.

A lot of times we stay the path because we are afraid of what others will think OR we are afraid of dealing with the consequences.

But the truth is:

We are allowed to pivot.
We are allowed to outgrow people, situations, and old versions of ourselves.

Sometimes the most powerful move we can can make is simply deciding:
“This is no longer where I want to go.”

Have a great week!

Is This You?

All messages start with Good Morning All – I hope you had an amazing weekend! As always, I like to start the week off right with some words of motivation or inspiration:

“We Are Always Getting Ready To Live, But Never Living.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson

We tell ourselves:

  • “Once things settle down, then I’ll enjoy life.”

  • “Once I make more money, then I’ll relax.”

  • “Once I lose the weight, get the promotion, buy the house, find the relationship, fix the problem, finish school, pay off debt… then I’ll finally live.”

The truth is life has a way of constantly moving the finish line. There is always another task... another goal... another responsibility... another fear. Another reason to delay joy, peace, creativity, adventure, rest, connection, or purpose.

Preparation can become a permanent state of wanting to:

  • start the business,

  • take the trip,

  • say how we feel,

  • pursue what matters,

  • repair relationships,

  • slow down,

  • enjoy our family,

  • or become the person we already know we can be.

Preparation can feel productive - but it is always looking forward and never being present.

Life is uncertainty, vulnerability, imperfection and risk.

Living is not something that begins in the future when we imagine life becomes fully organized and controlled. That day NEVER arrives.

We have to actually:

  • enjoy the conversation instead of thinking about the next task,

  • appreciate the people around us today,

  • experience the moment instead of constantly documenting, planning, or escaping it,

  • follow through on the things we keep telling ourselves we want to do,

  • and become fully present in the life we already have.

We often miss this because our minds are somewhere else:

  • replaying the past,

  • preparing and worrying about tomorrow,

  • or endlessly waiting for conditions to finally feel “right”

Life is happening now. Take time this week to realize what you are missing and where you need to be.

Have a great week!

Quiet Time

Good Morning All – I hope you had an amazing weekend! As always, I like to start the week off right with some words of motivation or inspiration:

“The Quieter You Become, The More You Are Able To Hear.” Rumi

In our world that is constantly loud, fast, busy, distracted, and demanding our attention, quiet is not easy.

We wake up and check our phones. We rush through the day. We answer messages, deal with work, manage responsibilities, react to problems, and move from one thing to the next - all the time.

And somewhere in all of that noise, we can lose touch with our own thoughts and with what is important. We all need to take time to slow down, think deeply, and sit quietly with our thoughts - when we get quiet we can:

  • Hear what we have been avoiding.

  • Hear the ideas that have been sitting in the background waiting for space.

  • Hear our instincts more clearly.

  • Hear what matters — and what does not.

Sometimes the best thing we can do is step back, create some quiet, and give ourselves room to think - and find clarity.

Taking a moment to breathe, think, pray, journal, walk, sit in silence, or simply unplug can be one of the most productive things we can all do.

Clarity rarely comes when we are overwhelmed - it usually comes when we finally give ourselves enough space to listen.

This week set aside 20 minutes each day for quiet.

  • No phone.

  • No distractions.

  • No noise.

  • Just time to think.

You may be surprised by what you hear when your world gets quiet.

Have a great week!

You Are What You Do, Not What You Say You Will Do

Good Morning All – I hope you had an amazing weekend! As always, I like to start the week off right with some words of motivation or inspiration:

It is easy to say we are going to make changes, start something new, improve our habits, get healthier, work harder, be more disciplined, become more focused, or finally take that next step forward etc etc - the list can go on forever.

But at the end of the day, our lives are not built by what we intend to do — they are built by what we actually do. This doesn’t mean every day has to be perfect — it just means that our actions matter.

We all have resistance to this:

  • “I’ll start tomorrow.”

  • “I’m too tired.”

  • “I’m too busy.”

  • “I’ll wait until the timing is better.”

  • “I don’t want to deal with it right now.”

We can be stronger than our challenges  — this week, let’s focus on actually doing the things we have been thinking about.

Have a great week!

Every Obstacle Is A Test

Life has a way of putting obstacles in front of us exactly when we least expect them.

Sometimes they arrive as disappointment or rejection.

Sometimes as stress, uncertainty, failure, conflict, delays, setbacks, health struggles, financial pressure, or seasons where nothing seems to go the way we planned.

In those moments, it is easy to believe the obstacle is here to stop us. But what if the obstacle is actually revealing something more?

What if it is testing our patience, our discipline, our character, our mindset, our faith, or our willingness to keep moving forward when things become uncomfortable?

Every obstacle carries two possibilities:

  1. One possibility is frustration, blame, avoidance, excuses, and giving up.

  2. The other possibility is growth or change.

Obstacles often force us to develop qualities we would never build during comfortable seasons. They teach resilience. They expose weaknesses we need to strengthen. They force creativity, adaptation, humility, and perseverance.

They challenge us to become someone stronger than we were before the obstacle appeared.

A test does not always mean punishment - sometimes it means preparation.

Sometimes the obstacle is preparing us for responsibilities, opportunities, wisdom, relationships, or success that our current self is not fully ready for yet.

Growth rarely happens when everything is easy. Strength is usually built under pressure.

This week, instead of only asking:

“Why is this happening to me?”

Try asking:

  • “What is this teaching me?”

  • “How can this grow me?”

  • “What opportunity is hidden inside this challenge?”

  • “What kind of person is this obstacle trying to develop me into?”

Have a great week!

What Your Excuses Are Really Telling You

Good Morning All – I hope you had an amazing weekend! As always, I like to start the week off right with some words of motivation or inspiration:

"When you start making excuses, that proves that the time has come for you to do the thing you are making the excuses for." Peter Kreeft

When we start making excuses, it often means we already know what needs to be done — we are just avoiding the discomfort of actually doing it.

  • Maybe it is a goal you have been putting off.

  • Maybe it is a decision you know you need to make.

  • Maybe it is a conversation that needs to happen.

  • Maybe it is a change in your business, your health, your relationships, your finances, your home, or your mindset.

Whatever it is, excuses can become our comfortable hiding place. They give us a reason to delay and stay exactly where we are. But the things we keep putting off are often the very things that need our attention most.

This week, let's pay attention to the things we keep saying we will get to eventually. That may be the VERY thing asking for our attention.

  • Make the call.

  • Start the plan.

  • Have the conversation.

  • Clean up the habit.

  • Clean up the room.

  • Ask the question.

  • Get the advice.

  • Take the step.

When we stop hiding behind excuses -- we can start moving toward something better.

Have a great week!

A Negative Mind Will Never Give You A Positive Life

Good Morning All – I hope you had an amazing weekend! As always, I like to start the week off right with some words of motivation or inspiration:

A Negative Mind Will Never Give You A Positive Life

There is a common criticism that comes up whenever people talk about having a positive mindset — some people say being positive is fake or unrealistic — that this ignores the real problems of life.

But that is not what Being Positive is.

Being positive does not mean pretending we have no problems. It does not mean denying reality. It does not mean acting like everything is easy when clearly it is not.

Being Positive is a choice in how we respond.

It is deciding that we are not going to let every problem poison our attitude. It is refusing to let disappointment turn us into bitter people. It is choosing not to complain our way through life and then wonder why everything feels heavy and terrible.

The reality is the opposite is guaranteed: a negative mind will always find something negative.

If you look for problems, you will find them.
If you look for reasons to complain, you will find them.
If you look for reasons to give up, you will find them.
If you look for reasons to be miserable, you will find those too.

Negativity has a way of becoming a filter. Once you see life through it, everything starts to look worse. Small issues become big issues. Temporary setbacks feel permanent. Other people’s mistakes become personal attacks. Opportunities start looking like risks, and blessings start looking like burdens.

That is why our mindset matters.

A positive attitude does not remove problems from our lives, but it changes how we carry them. It gives us room to think and act, and move forward instead of staying stuck — this applies to everything: life, business, relationships, and even real estate.

There will always be challenges. Markets change. Plans shift. Deals get complicated. Life throws curveballs.

But walking into every situation with a negative, downcast, complaining mindset does not make us more realistic. It just makes everything harder.

A better mindset will not solve everything overnight, but it will help you see more clearly, respond better, and find opportunities you may have missed while focusing only on the problems.

Something to think about this week - what attitude are you choosing?

Have a great week!
