What Could One Week of Yes Change?

Good Morning All – I hope you had an amazing weekend! As always, I like to start the week off right with some words of motivation or inspiration:

“What if, for one week, your default answer became YES?”

Most of us usually say no more often than we realize — sometimes out loud, sometimes quietly — but often automatically.

  • No, I don’t have time.

  • No, I probably couldn’t do that.

  • No, it might be awkward.

  • No, I’m not ready.

  • No, that probably won’t work.

  • No, I dont want too.

Sometimes no is the right answer — we all need healthy boundaries, and nobody benefits from agreeing to every demand placed on them. This is not about becoming a people-pleaser, taking foolish risks or saying yes to things that clearly do not serve us.

It is about noticing how often fear, habit and convenience make our decisions before we even stop to think.

What if, for one week, your default answer became yes to the things that could make life better?

  • Yes to the invitation you would normally decline.

  • Yes to trying something before you feel ready.

  • Yes to trying something new.

  • Yes to asking the question.

  • Yes to accepting help instead of managing everything alone.

  • Yes, I’ll learn more.

  • Yes, I’ll have the conversation.

  • Yes, I’ll see what my options are.

A single yes can introduce us to someone, expose us to a new idea or create an opportunity we could never have planned for.

Many of the most important decisions in our lives begin with a small yes rather than some dramatic leap.

For one week, try pausing before the automatic no. Let’s ask ourselves whether the answer is protecting something important—or simply protecting us from being uncomfortable, uncertain or surprised.

Have a great week!

Sincerely,
Your Realtor Denis Hrstic

The Situation Didn't Change. The Meaning Did.

Good Morning All – I hope you had an amazing weekend! As always, I like to start the week off right with some words of motivation or inspiration:

"What I Believe Determines How I Interpret What Happens To Me."

I came across this idea recently, and wanted to focus on it this week — two people can experience almost exactly the same setback and walk away from it with completely different conclusions. One sees failure as proof that they aren’t capable. The other sees it as evidence that they’re pushing beyond what they could do before.

One thinks, “This is hard, so maybe I’m on the wrong path.” The other thinks, “This is hard because I’m doing something I haven’t been skilled at yet.”

The circumstances could be identical — but the interpretation is completely different.

If I believe failure means I am a failure, I’ll naturally start avoiding situations where I might fail.

If I believe failure is sometimes part of getting better, I’m much more likely to keep going, adjust and try again.

It’s similar to training in the gym. If you’re trying to become stronger, eventually you reach the rep you simply can’t complete. At first glance, that looks like failure. But in reality, getting close to that limit is often exactly where the productive work is happening.

The same principle shows up everywhere in life:

  • A difficult conversation doesn’t necessarily mean a relationship is broken.

  • A challenging season doesn’t necessarily mean you made the wrong decision.

  • Feeling uncomfortable doesn’t necessarily mean you don’t belong.

  • A business setback doesn’t necessarily mean the idea was bad.

Sometimes struggle is simply the price of becoming better at something.

This doesn't mean pretending every setback is positive or ignoring reality. Sometimes we really do need to change direction. But before we decide what an experience means, it’s worth asking ourselves:

Is what happened actually telling me to stop, or is that simply the meaning I’ve attached to it?

There is a powerful chain reaction at work:

What I believe shapes how I interpret what happens.
How I interpret it influences what I choose.
And the choices I repeatedly make eventually shape who I become.

That’s worth remembering the next time something goes sideways —

Instead of asking  â€śWhy is this happening?”

Maybe the better question is — â€śWhat am I choosing to believe this means?”

Have a great week!

Sincerely,
